The daily loss limit is calculated from the greater of your previous day’s closing balance or closing equity. It resets at the start of each calendar day, measured in UTC time (midnight to midnight, UTC).
You start the day with a balance of $52,340. Your daily limit is 3% = $1,570.20. Your equity cannot drop below $50,769.80 at any point that day. You open a trade that moves against you by $1,200, leaving you $370.20 of buffer left before the limit is reached.
